The APC Elections and Diaspora Coordinator and Minister of Transport and Aviation , Comrade Leonard Balogun Koroma arrived at Toronto’s Pearson International Airport this afternoon and was warmly received by some executive members of APC-Ontario.
Other members of a high-powered delegation led by the APC Deputy Leader and Minister of Mines and Mineral Resources , Alhaji Minkailu Mansaray and comprising of the APC National Secretary General , Ambassador Osman Foday Yansaneh , the APC Western Area Regional Chairman and Minister of Trade and Industry , Comrade Momodu Allieu Pat - Sowe and several other high ranking party executive members are expected on Saturday in time for a dinner and dance and the inauguration of the APC-Canada branch on Sunday.
The APC Diaspora Biennial Tour which was initiated in 2013 was mandated by the Chairman and Leader of the All Peoples Congress party and President of the Republic of Sierra Leone , Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma to visit all diaspora branches once every two years (now every three years) to interact with them , address issues affecting them and to conduct elections or selections for new executive members in conformity with the December 5 , 1995 APC Constitution .
The delegation has successfully held conventions and elections by voting or by consultations in the United Kingdom , Germany , Belgium and Holland with substantive executives being put in place for the next three years in the four European countries .
The Canada branch Convention will take place this weekend ( 6th and 7th August ) while the highly anticipated Grand Finale USA Convention will take place in the Garden State of New Jersey on Saturday August 13th and Sunday , August 14th completing the first phase of APC Diaspora Conventions for 2016 .
Phase 2 will cover the APC African Diaspora , especially the Republics of Guinea Conakry , Liberia , the Gambia and possibly Addis Ababa .
Phase 3 will cover Australia and China at a date to be determined .
