The "not-for-profit" sector needs and deserves a serious rebrand
By Linda Glassco, President and CEO at Plan International Canada
In my latest interview, I share why it’s time to replace the word “non-profit” with “social impact sector.” The term “non-profit” is a tax status, not a business model. It defines the sector by what it is not, versus the strategic, innovative and high-impact sector that it is. Organizations like Plan International Canada run as sophisticated businesses delivering significant social returns. We attract top-tier talent, a top-notch board of directors, and engage large institutional donors and social investors looking for scalable impact. Not to mention hundreds of thousands of individual Canadian donors who look to us to solve critical global issues.
I also share my views on how we are pushing boundaries in global development, tackling the toughest challenges in girls’ rights, and reimagining the future of social impact: https://lnkd.in/gT9PS3vY
Thank you for this important conversation, Katherine Gougeon!
