At the recent inauguration of the 24 km Senegambia Bridge access road, co-financed by the African Development Bank Group and the European Union, President Adama Barrow of Gambia (right in photo) called the project a critical link for boosting regional trade.
The road provides key connectivity to the Senegambia Bridge, which has cut crossings over the Gambia River from days to minutes. Bank President Akinwumi Adesina (left) says the bridge has already increased integration, with traffic rising from 500 to 15,000 vehicles daily.
