The Sounds That Arrived
By Milo De Angelis
The wolf is still under the blanket
and a thousand questions are needed to grasp it
even if the desire
is to believe in everything at once
uttering a quiet, intense thanks
the unity of the sand, the right hand touching
the luminous left on the Egyptian statues
a calm that remains,
blooms again in the rite, this June
it’s like an answered prayer
the teacher, the scales
and the hair color is in the womb
and then the golden instant,
the lemon’s dark green.
