Higher education has the power to transform lives, open doors, and build a brighter future for individuals and society as a whole. However, accessibility remains a significant challenge for many disabled students.
At UoPeople, we believe higher ed should be inclusive and accessible to everyone, regardless of physical or cognitive abilities.
That’s why we offer our courses onlineโthere are many ways online learning can be beneficial for those with disabilities. Here are just a few ways:
๐ Flexible learning environments. Students can access course materials, lectures, and assignments at their own pace and from the comfort of their own homes.
๐ Reduced physical barriers: This reduction in physical barriers makes it easier for students to engage with their education without the added stress of navigating campus facilities that may not be fully accessible.
๐ Supportive technology: Tools such as text-to-speech, speech-to-text, and alternative input devices can help students engage with their coursework more effectively.
