Greetings from Kabala Republic, Sierra Leone. A great day with Project 1808, Inc students in Kabala as we embarked on Tree planting exercise and practical environmental education.
Over a 1000 trees planted ranging from economic to fruit trees. Students learnt the economic/medicinal benefits of the trees, ecological services including reservoirs for water and carbon (climate change), and environmental protection.
Above all, they learnt about the inter-dependencies between us humans, trees and animals (One Health). Project 1808 is committed to a sustainable future and protection of the environment for future generations. We hope that by catching them young, we can build ownership and sustainability.
Thanks to our mentors, staff and volunteers locally and globally for the support. You can support our work at https://lnkd.in/drEQRmV.
