Little Elm High School held commencement exercises on Saturday, June 5, 2010 at the prestigious Preston Wood Baptist Church in Plano, Texas. The class of 2010 includes our very own daughter, niece, granddaughter and sister: Mariama Sento Sesay, the daughter of Mr. Sanpha Sesay, veteran online news correspondent from Dallas, Texas.
Mariama Sesay, who is the eldest child of Mr. Sanpha Sesay, made her dad the proudest man as she completed the first stage in her pursuit to higher heights. It was all smiles and cheers from family and friends as Ms. Sesay walked the stage to receive her diploma and posed for a memorable picture. It is often believed that many are called but few are chosen and if this cliché is anything to go by, then Mr. and Mrs. Sesay have every reason to celebrate this accomplishment. At a time when children of immigrant families are falling on the wayside because of the loads of unwanted distractions embedded in our societies, this is a milestone event worthy of being celebrated with dignity.
At this point, we pray that God continues to direct her towards fulfilling her destiny and may the sky not even be her limits. Cheers! Mariama.
