Youssou N’dour storms Eindhoven

Senegalse super-star Youssou N’dour and his Super Etoile Band have started their latest European tour and thrilled hundreds of music lovers with several songs from his new album, “Dakar-Kingston,” an array of reggae lyrics.

The performance at the Frits Philips Musical center in the southern Dutch city of Eindhoven was a gigantic demonstration of his ability to mesmerise audiences around the world.

The Senegalese singer cruised through from his new tribute to Bob Marley, a reggae version of ‘Africa Dream Again and Don’t walk Away, 7 seconds to Biri Biri. The tracks caught and held the audience spell bound and slowly brought them into a festive mood.

‘I could have listened to Youssou N’dour for hours and hours, without being bored, but unfortunately the time was too short. He’s incredible and an awesome performer! Youssou N’dour has so much class and style,” declared Roseline Besselsen .

As the night progressed, individual members of the Super Etoile band was introduced and each demonstrated their ingenuity with their acoustic and bass guitars, talking drum and other musical equipment. The crowd seemed to know the lyrics and judging by their joyous chanting, they were all very much into the show.

Many of the fans who watched Youssou Ndour say that it was an extraordinary and unforgettable show. Tijani from The Hague said that the show was intense and the blend of reggae, and traditional African songs swayed and energized the audience .

Youssou N’dour is one of the most famous African musicians. With his traditional Senegalese beats and influences from Cuban samba to hip-hop, jazz and soul he has collaborated with Bruce Springsteen, Peter Gabriel and many other famed artists to enhance his musical career.
