SLPP’s ridiculous untruths

Having gone through Jacob Jusu Saffa’s Press Release following Tuesday’s riot in Bo between supporters of the APC and the SLPP, one could read between the lines and decipher his naked and ridiculous untruths.

Times without number, we have warned that JJ Blood is not good for the image of the SLPP. In fact, his mere attempt to make a case for his party has ended up in insulting decent people.

As a matter of fact, one would have expected the SLPP to have bluntly condemned their supporters in the first place, for their lawlessness in going as far as destroying the portriat of no less a person than the Head of State. At least, that was what we expected from a responsible opposition.

Such acts of lawlessness must be condemned by the SLPP in its entirety as it is a clear manifestation of how far the SLPP can go in not accepting the reality of change that power is no longer within their grip.

I am not by any means trying to downplay the seriousness of the Bo incident, after all, it bothers on national security and therefore requires the attention it deserves.

But,the fact of the matter is that, it is high time that the SLPP realised that President Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma is President of Sierra Leone and not of a group of Sierra Leoneans.

The release also unnecessarily attacked the police when it stated that they allowed APC supporters to vandalise and loot the SLPP office and went further to issue threats that in future they will take the law into their own hands. Scape-goatising the Police for their lawlessness is utter rubbish.

Interestingly, this was the same police that was applauded by the SLPP when Tom Nyuma was accused of attempting to assasinate President Koroma during a campaign tour in the same Bo.

So why the dramatic change of confidence? Remember, what goes around surely comes around. This is not time for finger-pointing, the police must be allowed to do their work.
