Our group of black leaders and churches had a very productive meeting yesterday with Mayor Olivia Chow — the discussion cantered around reimbursement of funds to help make the groups whole financially with solutions, including ways the City can work more with the black refugee sector or community to help solve the current African Migrants and Asylum Seekers Crisis.
On behalf of the group, we would like to thank the Mayor for her leadership on this issue and we look forward to working with her team and the city to create more sustainable, culturally sensitive as well as relevant shelters and wraparound services.
