I’m here with the World Bank, celebrating a decade of the Women, Business and the Law report. As we dive into the findings of their report, it’s evident that our collective efforts are crucial for fostering a world where women have equal economic opportunities.
Through comprehensive reforms and policies, including enhanced safety measures, economic opportunity, the National Action Plan to End Gender-Based Violence, National Childcare and most recently, National Pharmacare — Canada has and always will remain committed to gender equality.
Canada’s efforts in these domains reflect our commitment to not just legislative reform but comprehensive policies and action that addresses the real needs of women.
As we navigate post-pandemic challenges, investing in these nation-building programs is not just a moral imperative but an economic one.
The global community’s dedication to learning, sharing, and growing in this collective quest for equality is inspiring.
