Tonight (Tuesday October 3) was historic for all of Canada.
Wab Kinew (photo) is the first First Nations leader to be elected Premier of a province.
This is long overdue.
As well, the people of Manitoba rejected both overt and dogwhistle calls to discriminate against fellow citizens. I am inspired by this.
All Canadians should be inspired by this — and recommit to fighting against these toxic tactics.
Wab and the Manitoba NDP committed to rebuilding and raising up our public healthcare. He committed to helping regular families in Manitoba confront the affordability crisis.
I look forward to the thoughtful, responsive and equitable agenda the Manitoba NDP government brings forward on behalf of ALL citizens.
