US-based Fatmatta Conteh is a founding member of Me Against Poverty (meagainstpoverty.org), a Washington DC based non-profit.
A couple of months ago, her sister, Adama, contacted us with reference to a project that their organization is involved in at Yonibana, northern Sierra Leone. We published a news item on that including a video clip.
The organization is trying to complete a building project (computer center and library) for Yonibana Secondary School (YSS) and for the Yoni community.
Fatmata (top photo) recently returned from Sierra Leone after launching the project.

"It was very successful and we hope to raise more funds in the States to complete the project," told us.

About Me Against Poverty
Me Against Poverty is an international non-profit organization founded on February 18th 2009. Our mission is to empower underprivileged Sierra Leoneans by providing educational assistance to help the communities in Sierra Leone thrive and break the cycle of poverty.
We believe that every educated person is not rich, but educated people are more likely to find a way out of poverty. So education is a fundamental solution to poverty.
We also believe that education is not the only way out of poverty. Therefore, secondary to our mission is partnering with reputable non-profit organizations like kiva.org to help raise micro-credit loans for Sierra Leoneans and non Sierra Leoneans.
We have a social network that is a forum for healthy discussions centered on poverty eradication. You can join us by following the facebook link at the bottom of the page.
