The Patriotic Vanguard has received the sad news of the passing away of Mr. Theophilus,Jonathan,Abayomi Roberts, father of General Editor Abayomi Charles Roberts, on Tuesday, May 29, 2007 in Freetown at 4: 00 p.m. (local time). He was 79 years old and a former employee of what was known as the Sierra Leone Electricity Corporation (now NPA)and was district manager in Kabala, Magburaka, Kenema and Kono.He retired in 1988.
He is survived by his wife Mrs. Ngadi (Kadiatu) Roberts and several children including Abayomi Charles Roberts and Arthur Babatunde Roberts in Edmonton, Canada, Stella White (Maryland) Bamie Vidal Roberts and lawyer Emmanuel Ekundayo Roberts in Freetown. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
