The Search Committee of the University of Sierra Leone (USL) invites applications for the following positions:
(1) Deputy Vice Chancellor, Fourah Bay College (FBC)
(2) Deputy Vice Chancellor, College of Medicine Allied Health Sciences, (COMAHS) and
(3) Deputy Vice Chancellor Institute of Public Administration and Management (IPAM)
Applicants must possess the following qualifications and abilities:
Must not be below the rank of Associate Professor from a recognized University
Must have held a Senior Administrative or Academic and Management position(s) in a recognized University or other Tertiary Education institution for at least five (5) years;
Must have the capacity to lead a research and teaching institution with familiarity with effective methods of teaching, learning and assessment.
Must have the capacity to manage a higher educational institution both administratively and academically
Must demonstrate the capacity to enhance income generation and prepare the institution for the challenges of the future
Functions:
He/She shall be responsible for:
Campus discipline and security
Supervision of teaching, research and community activities of Deans of Faculties, Heads of Departments within his/her campus under the direction of the Vice Chancellor and Principal
Student welfare including the enforcement of the rules binding the conduct of students
Any other duties assigned to him/her by the Vice Chancellor and Principal.
He/she shall be the chief academic, administrative and accounting officer of his or her Campus and shall in addition continue to perform his or her academic function.
Conditions of Service:
The conditions of service shall be in accordance with the 2005 Universities Act.

The Search Committee of the University of Sierra Leone (USL) invites applications for the position of Vice Chancellor and Principal, University of Sierra Leone.
Applicants must possess the following qualifications and abilities:
Must not be below the rank of a Professor from a recognized University;
Must be of high academic distinction and proven managerial skills;
Must demonstrate t
he capacity to generate resources for the University and prepare the institution for the challenges of the future;
Must have the capacity to manage a higher education institution both administratively, financially and academically and;
Must have the capacity to lead research and teaching institutions and must be familiar with effective methods of teaching, learning and assessment.
Functions:
The Vice-Chancellor and Principal
shall be the chief academic and administrative officer of the University;
shall be responsible generally to the Court and the Senate for maintaining and promoting the efficiency of the University and shall present an annual report on those matters to the Court;
shall be the Vote Controller of the University and shall be co-signatory with the Finance Director of the University if withdrawals from the University bank accounts, excluding campus accounts;
Shall cooperate with the Tertiary Education Commission on matters; pertaining to the commission’s responsibility towards the University.
