Our University of Sierra Leone team led by myself and Daniel Chaytor is among three African Universities awarded the inaugural Carnegie Mellon University- Africa (CMU-Africa) inclusive digital transformation planning grant.
In collaboration with Prof. Conrad Tucker and other CMU colleagues, our proposal leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) and additive manufacturing to improve access to quality prosthetics and orthotics for amputees was funded for pilot study with potential for further implementation support.
The award and collaboration with CMU-Africa is one immediate positive outcome of the Digital Public Goods and Cybersecurity Conference ogranized by Prof. Conrad Tucker and team in Freetown, May 2022.
