The names of most towns in my community, start with the syllable, KA, as at Kathombo, Kamanke, Ka Sakura and Ka Gbum Gbum Na, to name just a few. The name of our town, Bumbuna, was originally , Ka Gbum Gbum na, meaning , that place with the Gbum Gbum sound, that is, the roaring sound of the waterfalls. As it happened, the name was administratively changed to Bumbuna, during British colonial rule. Here is my nephew, lawyer Brima Koroma’s view on the issue of the strange writing on the rocks at Bumbuna.:
.
"It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon. A small group of four including my humble self visited the Bumbuna Water Falls. A tradition I have kept for over twenty five years now: visiting either with friends or relatives every time I traveled to Bumbuna to take the customary pictures and marvel at the natural beauty and majestic sounds of the water falls. The birds singing effervescent melodies. The lushness of the tall trees and picturesque greenery that surrounds the wonder of nature’s beauty.
.
We were busy taking photos when suddenly, Abu Kamara, a local of Bumbuna town drew my attention to some strange but rather curious looking inscriptions on some rocks. I immediately got down to touch, feel and try to make sense of this stunning discovery. I therefore took several photos of the very first rock and others bestriding it to clearly show the inscriptions which looked like hieroglyphs to my untrained eyes.
I got very curious and decided to forward the said photos to some very intellectual relatives. Dcovery was made at 5:05pm local time, on the 10th day of June 2023."

On seeing my nephew, Brima Koromaa( photo) actually standing between the rocks and touching the mysterious writings, some relatives and friends were perplexed, giving the mysterious stories about the waterfalls being told to us when were young.I told them , the beauty of education, is it’s mental slavery liberation on some intellectuals, and lawyer Koroma , is one such intellectual. Besides, lawyer Koroma’s articulation and love of history, earned him distinction one in O level and a distinction A, Advance level , so ignoring such significant historical discovery was not on his mind.

My conclusion
The uniformity of the writings , according to Professor Joyce Dixon - fyle , is suggestive of the works of a single scribe. This begs the question, who was this scribe? What message was the scribe disseminating? As Professor Ismael Rashid , of Vassar College, Pughipse , New York, stated, only dating and tracing out of the characters will help. This discovery is indeed mysterious, especially when one considers the fact that, Historians could not trace the Limbas any where in the world, meaning, they have always been in that part of the world, called Sierra Leone. So, how did a type of writing that looked like hyroglyphics materialized on a rock in the heart of Limba Land? As Professor Joyce Dixon-Fyle , of the state of Indiana. USA , stated : Interesting intersection of myth, history and politics!!
