Sierra Leone: Glenna Forde is Dead

Glenna Forde, Acting Director of Broadcasting of the 98.1 FM radio station in Freetown is dead.

According to the New Citizen newspaper of today Tuesday October 17, Glenna died in the early hours of yesterday Monday October 16 at the Satellite Clinic, King Harmann Road "when she could no longer respond to medical treatment".

The New Citizen newspaper is owned by Sierra Leone Association of Journalists (SLAJ) president Ibrahim Kargbo.

Glenna was born in Freetown where she grew up and went to school before being employed by Radio Democracy 98.1. She used to cover Special Court proceedings among other duties.

New Citizen further observed that 98.1 had lost two other respected journalists ( Oliver John and Arthur Pratt) and that all of them, including Glenna, "had died suddenly".

Glenna, loved and respected by her colleagues and the public at large, is survived by three children.
