Vice President Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh recently commissioned power tillers designed to support women farmers involved in vegetable production in the Port Loko district in the North-West region of the country.
According to the Vice President, the event is a demonstration of the commitment of the current government to mechanise agriculture and boost food production in the country.
Women farmers from the Port Loko district take the ferry to Freetown the capital every morning with fresh vegetables to sell in the Freetown markets.
