One of Sierra Leone’s most popular football stars, Mohamed Lamin Conteh ( also known as Junior Tumbu) has passed away in Kenema City, east of Sierra Leone, after a short illness.
Tumbu (photo) played as an attacking midfielder for East End Lions and for other clubs abroad. He was part of the Leone Stars squad from 1994 to 2002.
He was popular for his dribbling skills and ability to inflict damage on the opponent.
Junior Tumbu was part of the Leone Stars technical team in Cameroon for the 2022 AFCON tournament. Until his death, he was working as a coach in the Eastern region.
