The John F Kennedy International Academy at Tower Hill, Freetown, recently celebrated the 91st birthday anniversary of the Late John F. Kennedy, 35th President of the United States of America with a recitation ceremony and awards to deserving pupils which was climaxed with a cultural and municipal extravaganza.
John F. Kennedy was born in Brooklyn, New York on 29th May 1917 and was assassinated on the 22nd November, 1963.
The J.F.K International Academy, named after the American President has it’s Founder’s Day as 29th May whilst its sister school JOHN F. Kennedy Preparatory have their own Founder’s Day on the 22nd November, the date John F. Kennedy was assassinated.
Special prayers was observed during the ceremony for the wellbeing and speedy recovery of Senator Edward M. Kennedy, the younger brother of John F. Kennedy who was hospitalized a few days ago suffering from a seizure.
The celebration will continues over the weekend with a Muslim Service at the Limba Mosque on Friday and a Thanksgiving Service on Sunday at the Regent Road Baptist Church.
