His Excellency the Vice-President and presidential flag bearer of the ruling SLPP, Solomon Ekuma Berewa will make a show stealing appearance as Grand Chief Patron at a Fundraising Reception and Dance organized by Friends of Berewa (UK Chapter) on Friday 29th September 2006 at the prestigious Bonnington Hotel, Southampton Row, London.
It is expected that he will speak on the theme ‘‘Responsible Leadership for Sustainable Development and Democratic Governance in Sierra Leone’’. This occasion will also provide an opportunity for the Vice-President to actualize his undying ambition to meet with and interact with a cross-section of the Sierra-Leonean community in the United Kingdom.
Friends of Berewa (UK Chapter) is a support group that believes at this critical juncture of our country’s history, Sierra Leone deserves nothing less than responsible leadership to achieve sustainable development and democratic governance. It is a group that at all times works with the broader SLPP and not independent of it. In short, its aims are broadly in line with the party’s and are there to complement it at all times.
Friends of Berewa is committed to the election of Solomon Berewa as President, and for the overall success of the SLPP as the Party of Governance come July 2007. We believe that Vice-President Solomon Ekuma Berewa is better qualified, tried and tested, and in our view the fittest man to continue the march to develop and strengthen democratic governance in Sierra Leone. Finally, we aim to assure Sierra Leoneans that under his watch; the people can go to sleep, rest assured and safe in the knowledge that a good and trusted Captain is at the Helm.
