There is a disturbing documentary on Zambia currently on the news portal This is Africa which we would like to share with our readers.
The documentary by Danish documentary film maker Christopher Guldbransen narrates the story of the activities of a Swiss mining company called Glencore in Zambia in East Africa. Glencore has a copper mine in Mopani ( see photo.Daily Nation).
This is a story about all African countries which, even though extremely rich in natural resources, still remain poor. It’s also about environmental and health problems caused by mining in Africa. We will not go into details on what the documentary contains but would rather let it speak for itself. Please note that this documentary was made before the new government that is now in place in Zambia.
