Emmerson Bockarie, of Bobor Belleh fame, has apologised unreservedly to his many
disappointed fans turned away from the 45th Sierra Leone Independence
anniversary show on Saturday April 29 in London. This apology is a damage
control measure to minimise the embarrassment suffered by the show
organisers.

In an exclusive interview with the Patriotic Vanguard on Wednesday May 3,
Emmerson Hamidu Bockarie used the opportunity to apologise to his numerous
London fans.

“They had come all the way to the show in Brixton to see me but
they could not enter the show to see me perform. I just want to say that I’m
very, very sorry because I know what people lost that day and the money they
lost. I just want to tell them I’ll make it up to them next time.”

Emmerson’s apology to his fans highlighted the love he has for them even
though the Brixton show was in reality not an Emmerson show. Like other
musicians who performed that night including Bunny Mack, Vida, Emmerson told
the Patriotic Vanguard that he was contracted by the show organisers to
perform only five songs that night.

No wonder party goers, who had gone there to purposely see Emmerson waited
until 1.30 am before he took the stage for the first performance that lasted
for about 20 minutes. Emmerson came on the stage for the last and final
performance at around 2.40 am and by 3.00am he bade farewell to the
excited and festive crowd.

But Emmerson’s ‘Tutu Party’ plus Bunny Mack’s ‘My Sweetie, My sugar’
obviously did the trick sending the crowd wild. The organisers gave the
wrong impression that the show was an Emmerson one which was denied by him
in the interview.

Emmerson concluded by sending a message to his fans all over the world in
Sierra Leone and where ever Sierra Leoneans are, Ghanaians, Nigerians. “I
just want to tell them that I love them.”

In a related development, the organisers of the disastrous Brixton show
Abass, Molash & SL4U promoters have also sent their apology to the aggrieved
fans and promised to refund their unused tickets as soon as possible. They
have also requested the details of all those affected to resolve this
problem satisfactorily.
