Four Alagbas (top brass) of the ruling All People’s Congress (APC) party in Sierra Leone will arrive in Toronto, Canada on Thursday August 4, 2016 to launch the Canada branch of the party which had for a long time been part of APC-North America. Now we have APC-USA and APC-Canada will officially come into effect Sunday August 7 after the launching in Toronto, Canada’s largest city and the home of the APC chapter with the highest number of members in Canada.

The four Alagbas that will soon land in Toronto are Alhaji Osman Foday Yansaneh (photo), APC National Secretary-General, Honourable Leonard Balogun (Logus) Koroma, Transport and Aviation Minister, Honourable Momodou Allieu Pat-Sowe, Trade and Industry Minister and Honourable Minkailu Mansaray, Mines Minister and APC Deputy Leader.

After the Toronto event the Alagbas would then proceed to the US where they would supervise the election of a new chairman for APC-USA in New Jersey. New Jersey APC president Alimamy Turay recently told me preparations are in top gear to welcome the APC delegation and other party members from all over the US and beyond.

In Toronto APC-Ontario president Abubakarr Kamara told me he and his team are working around the clock to make the launching of APC-Canada a memorable and historic event and he is expecting APC members from all over Canada to be present in Toronto on August 4 to welcome the visitors from Freetown and to elect on Sunday August 7, for the first time in history, a national party executive in Canada.
