Dear friend of Eustace Palmer,

PublishAmerica is proud to announce the recent release of Eustace Palmer’s new book: Canfira’s Travels!

Here’s what the author says about the book: The lone survivor of a plane crash, a young man named Canfira, makes his way to a land inhabited by strange baboon-like and pig-like creatures called Nahums and Pigums who, amazingly, speak and behave like human beings and have human-like institutions and social structures. After an initial period of observation and persecution, the Nahums and Pigums allow Canfira to stay with them. Through Canfira’s eyes we observe the customs, values, educational systems, relationships, and political, social, and religious structures of these strange beings. It soon becomes clear that the novel is, in the manner of Gulliver’s Travels or Animal Farm, a thoroughgoing satire on the Nahums and their society. The novels is about greed, sexual indulgence, corruption, power, self-interest, social snobbery and many other issues. Whether it is really about animals and what environment it is really about is up to the reader to determine. Perhaps its most interesting aspect is the way in which Canfira, the human narrator, becomes superlatively adjusted to the way of life of his hosts and comes to behave like them and to accept their values completely, values he had once denounced. The novel thus makes an adroit deployment of irony of all kinds and a deft manipulation of narrative technique. The corruption, nastiness, and viciousness culminate inevitably in a most dramatic conclusion.
