Though it tarries, wait for it

Six years ago, I applied to 14 medical schools and was rejected by all. Last year, I applied to 10; got into 8, and …

Today, I finished my first year at the Yale School of Medicine.

Not that it matters as much— I had other exciting options to not do an MD, if money was the reason. No one in their right mind who is financially stable and already has a doctoral degree would do that.

Beyond my calling to transform Africa’s health systems, I also wanted to prove to myself and children from similar impoverished backgrounds — that with God, ALL (not some) things are possible.

Those four years helped me develop a strength of character and become the man and leader I am today. So, I am grateful that I was initially rejected.

What dream do you have that’s delaying? Rest assured - “For the vision is yet for the appointed time; It hastens toward the goal, and it will not fail. Though it tarries, wait for it; For it will certainly come.” Hab. 2:3.

Your life is the testimony someone is depending on. So don’t give up just yet. If the charcoal seller’s son could also wear a white coat, then you can also achieve anything God has called you to be.

Have a great week!
