Music analysts and events promoters across the African communities in Winnipeg, Canada, have dubbed Bob Umar & Baby Kay’s wedding social "the most awaited social in 2008." Showbiz guru and entertainment journalist, Lans Omar, has openly labelled the event as "the last of the greatest shows in Winnipeg for 2008."

The wait is over, today is the day.

The location is Broadway Community Centre, 185 Young street @ Broadway.

The date is Saturday June 21, 2008.

The time is 7 pm prompt.

And the cover charge is only $10.00

Bob Umar & Baby Kay’s wedding social is a talk of the town event. Even among other nationals, the vibe is very strong. A group of Nigerian students at the University of Manitoba has even expressed concern, indicating that they will surely be there to grace the occasion.

I spoke to a group of young girls from the Sierra Leonean community in Winnipeg. Mariama, who simply goes by the name "B-Girl," told me in a brief conversation: "I just wanna like fresh for the wedding social. I’m gonna wear a short, sexy red dress."

Aminata Koroma aka Ya Amie said: "As usual, I’ll go do my thing and would love to dance to some Salone music."

I also had some time to talk to Bob Umar. The bridegroom confirmed that the night will be one of it’s kind, putting emphasis on the prizes for the silent auction. There are lots of good items in electronics, clothings, housewares and giftwraps, etc.

Umar said there is going to be a big prize for the best dressed man and best dressed woman for the night.

Some of the performing acts during the social will be Alaska and up-coming Sierra Leonean rapper Leone Star, etc. And for those of you who love to dance, D.J. Alie De Nazer aka "Scatter Crowd," aka "the best Salone D.J. in Canada" is all set to fling down the tunes.

"As for the food, there will be plenty. And pepper soup will also be served," Baby Kay briefly told me.

So, don’t wait to be told......

Who do you think will emerge as best dressed male/female at this event?
