The football coach for the Kenyan National team the Harambee Stars, Francis Kimanzi(photo), has been sacked by the Football Kenya Limited barely a month after his appointment for a one year long contract.

That contract expected him to steer the stars through the 2010 world cup/Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
According to FKL CEO Sammy Obingo, the change of the nation team coach was necessary for the technical bench of the national team.

Obingo accused coach Kimanzi of indiscipline and double standards noting that his presence at the helm of the national outfit would be catastrophic in the long term.

According to Coach Kimanzi, he was not ready to be manipulated as the coach of the Harambee stars. He said he was in charge of the team and should not be told how to run it.

However, Kimanzi and team manager Peter Serry have been replaced by Bobby Ogolla as acting head coach to be assisted by Francis Baraza.
