FC Johansen of Sierra Leone yesterday thrashed Sweden’s National U-14 side by a lone goal in the opening match of the Mittonorden Cup competition qualifying series.

The lone goal was scored by squad’s youngest player Kelli Marah aka Lionel Messi in the twenty-fourth minute of the first half.

Kelli Marah, 11, cleverly dribbled the ball pass two Swedish defenders before firing a heavy shot into the corner of the net, throwing Sierra Leonean fans into wild celebration.

Speaking to The Patriotic Vanguard after the match, one of the officials that traveled with the team said the match was very excited and that the boys put up a brilliant performance.

He added that they will do all in their power to progress to the last stage of the competition. Sierra Leone is the first Africa country which has took part in such a competition

FC Johansen clash with Turkey tomorrow.
