Thanksgiving 2014

By Willie James King, USA.

Ate well. Didn’t pig-out.
Still took my walk though,
and I returned home
facing another cold, yet
marvelous sunset. I was alone.
I know how to keep company
with myself, gracious, decent,
and in good order. I thought
about Michael Brown,
as well as others, many
our current world
might never know.
Nothing about his death is new.
It is a start. I thank God
for all of the fervor
in Ferguson and
is elsewhere too.
